Sunlake Ladies Fall/Winter Golf League– This league starts the first Tuesday in October and continues every Tuesday until the last Tuesday in April. Women at all stages of golf are welcome. Participants meet at the first tee at 8:15 and start play at 8:30AM. The League has a shotgun start with three or four person teams that change weekly. The League Captain designates teams and beginning tee numbers. If the temperature falls below 45 degrees there is no play that day. Individual scores and handicaps are maintained by the League and complies with PGA rules. All ladies are welcome to join the league even if they are not going to play the entire season.
COST: There is no fee to join the league. Each player is allowed to purchase one mulligan every week for a $ .25 fee. The mulligan can be used anywhere on the course except the green. The mulligan can be saved and up to 3 mulligans can be used each week. There is also a penalty fee of $ .05 cents for each putt over the total of 18 putts each week. These funds go toward prize monies at the end of the season.
FUN DAY: Occasionally we will have fun days. Games on that day vary between best ball, roll the dice, pink ball or other team games. The rules are explained before play starts.
YEARLY LUNCHEON: An annual luncheon is held at the end of March. It is held before the end of the season to allow early snowbirds to attend before they head back north. Prizes are awarded for most improved golfer, putter, birdies, etc. Players pay for their own lunch at this function.
Play continues through the summer months. When we dwindle down to a few players, we join the men’s league and play on Wednesday mornings. These scores are not added into the player’s averages.
Any questions can be directed to Team Captains June Ward or Pat McGonigal.
