Lock and Key Program: The SVFD offers the Lock and Key Program for any resident, especially those who live alone. This involves a very easy and quick installation of a coded Lock Box/key storage set-up on the front door of the home (this is similar to the system used by real estate agencies on houses that are for sale). Once the lock box is installed, the lock code is available only to the first responders. Should you be away during an emergency at your house or unable to answer the door yourself, this system will provide SVFD emergency personnel access. It eliminates having to wait outside for the Sheriff’s Dept. who may have to break down the door to gain entry. A lock box can be purchased from SVFD for a nominal fee.
Curb painting
Upon request, one of the SVFD volunteers will paint a resident’s house number on their curb, making house identification easier for emergency personnel or deliveries. Suggested donation is $10.00.
