Sunlake Estates Volunteer Fire Department
Mission Statement: We, the members of the Sunlake Volunteer Fire Department, dedicate our efforts to provide a variety of services designed to protect the lives and property of the Community we serve, by providing prompt and professional services in the event of medical emergencies and disasters or any other event, which may threaten the welfare of our Community. It is our mission and number one priority to deliver the best possible service to our community.
Services provided by SLVFD include:
1st Responder Program:
Dispatcher: receives emergency calls 24/7, contacts 1st responders, 2nd responders and gate people.
Escorts: Receive calls, respond to the gate to guide the ambulance to the home and lead the ambulance out of the park.
1st Responders: Assist the resident in need of emergency care until the EMTs arrive.
2nd Responders: Assist 1st responder by recording vitals.
The Responders are trained in CPR and First Aid. They carry AEDs and medical equipment.
Medical Equipment:
Equipment is available upon request, without charge.
Equipment includes: shower chairs, wheel chairs, canes, walkers, crutches, toilet risers and
a variety of miscellaneous equipment.
Lock and Key Program:
A lock, with the resident’s key inside, is installed on or near the door, to assure help is available during an emergency. The codes for the locks are confidential.
CPR and First Aid Training:
These programs are available to all Fire Dept. members and any resident who wishes to
participate. There is no charge for the training.
Curb Painting:
Your house number can be painted on the curb in front of your home for a small donation.
This assists the 1st responders and ambulance in locating the home in an expedient manner.
Sale of Fire Extinguishers and Smoke Alarms:
Sold at our cost. Installed free.
Associates:
A wonderful group of volunteers that assists with events and fundraisers and any other service needed.
