SAFETY FIRST FOR SUNLAKERS
FIRE:
Get out of the house.
Go to a neighbor, or use cell phone outside of home.
Call 911 first; tell them “FIRE,” give address, hang up.
Call or have neighbor call (352) 409-1121.
TORNADO:
A tornado watch is issued when a severe weather storm may spawn tornadoes.
A tornado warning lasts for one hour or less and means TAKE ACTION NOW!
The emergency sirens at the Fire Hall and the Lake Front will blow for a full 3 minutes.
Take shelter in a room without windows (such as a bathroom, hallway or closet).
Cover yourself with a mattress or blankets.
HURRICANE:
Hurricane season: June 1 to Nov. 30, with peak season mid-August to late October.
If living in a manufactured home, NEVER ignore an evacuation order.
Either stay at a shelter during the hurricane, or stay with a friend at a site built home.

DISASTER SUPPLY KIT:
Water is the first priority. (One gallon daily, per person, for five days)
Food and juice: Packaged or canned. Non-electric can opener, cooking tools and fuel.
Toiletries: toothpaste and brush, deodorant, soap, personal hygiene products,
toilet paper, washcloths and towels. Pet food and spare batteries.
Medicine (for at least a month). Battery powered weather radio, flashlight, waterproof
bag with important documents, important phone numbers, First Aid kit.
A generator is important if power is lost for any length of time. (4-5000kw)
The Clubhouse & Rec Center doors will be locked. They are not shelters.
